“One morning to walk one mile to unite one community.”

Join us at the National Harbor, Maryland, on June 6, 2015, at 10 a.m. (check-in starts at 9 a.m.) for the D.C. Walk of Hope! We’re excited to sponsor RESOLVE’s annual event, which aims to raise awareness and funds for those facing infertility challenges. This nationwide event takes place in various cities, from Los Angeles to Chicago, and serves as RESOLVE’s flagship fundraising initiative.

The money raised during the Walk of Hope supports essential programs by RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, including support groups, educational initiatives, public awareness campaigns, and advocacy efforts to ensure everyone has access to family-building options.

Infertility Facts in the Mid-Atlantic Region

In the Mid-Atlantic, over 325,000 individuals are affected by infertility, yet only 23 local support groups are funded. Maryland stands out as the sole state in the area with an insurance mandate covering infertility treatments. In 2012, RESOLVE played a critical role in defeating a bill in Virginia that threatened the practice of in vitro fertilization (IVF). Funds raised from events like the Walk of Hope empower RESOLVE to engage in such vital advocacy work, with its headquarters located in Virginia.

Why We Walk

At our event, we walk to stand in solidarity with the infertility community. Hope is a powerful emotion that drives everything we do. Scientific advancements mean little without hope. The Walk of Hope signifies more than just wearing a t-shirt and walking a mile; it’s a movement. A movement to remind those affected by infertility that they are not alone, to raise awareness among friends and family about the struggles faced by those dealing with infertility, and to gather funds that help individuals access family-building resources.

We invite you to join us in National Harbor on June 6, 2015, as we spread hope and awareness, reminding everyone they are not alone in this journey.

Feel free to join our Walk of Hope teams: K Street Cares and our own team. Registration is free, and donations to RESOLVE’s fundraising efforts are always appreciated.
