At Millie, our approach to collaborative OB and midwifery care is all about teamwork and support throughout your pregnancy journey. Did you know that around 80-85% of pregnancies are considered “low risk”? That’s where Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) come in! They’re experts at providing holistic care and supporting natural childbirth. Our philosophy is simple: everyone should have access to both a midwife and an OBGYN.
Your Journey Begins
So, what does this mean for you in practice? When you come to Millie, the first step is meeting with one of our friendly midwives, like Sarah or Jamie, who will be your go-to person throughout your pregnancy. You get to choose your midwife, and they’ll be there for you every step of the way!
High-Risk Pregnancies
If your pregnancy turns out to be higher risk, don’t worry! Your midwife will collaborate with a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist (an OBGYN who focuses on high-risk pregnancies), making sure you get the best care possible. They’ll also work closely with the hospitalist OBGYNs at Alta Bates for your delivery. If it’s determined that your pregnancy is too high risk for midwifery care, we’ll ensure a smooth transition to an OBGYN in the community, so you’re always in good hands.
Comprehensive Care
At Millie, you can feel confident that you will receive compassionate, comprehensive care that merges the strengths of both OBGYNs and midwives.
