We’re thrilled to introduce a new member to our team! The folks at our fertility center are excited to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Alex Thompson, who is joining us as one of our dedicated IVF specialists.
Dr. Thompson hails from the vibrant city of Austin and is a proud Texan. He recently wrapped up his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Duke University and completed his residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He also earned his medical degree from UT Health Science Center at San Antonio and is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
With a keen interest in advanced reproductive technologies, Dr. Thompson is sure to be a fantastic addition to our team. Starting August 1st, he will begin seeing patients at our various locations, including the Medical Center and The Woodlands. We can’t wait for you to meet him! To help you get to know him better, we sat down for a quick chat.
HFI: What led you to pursue a career in medicine?
Dr. Thompson: Becoming a doctor was my dream since childhood. When I lost my younger sister unexpectedly to a heart defect at the age of 13, I knew I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives.
HFI: What drives your passion in your professional life?
Dr. Thompson: I’m incredibly passionate about assisting couples facing infertility. While it can be challenging, the joy of helping them achieve their dreams of parenthood is truly rewarding. This passion is why I chose to be part of this team.
HFI: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not practicing medicine?
Dr. Thompson: Family comes first for me. I strive to be the best husband and dad possible. I also love sports, especially golf, and enjoy hunting, cooking, and traveling. Plus, I’m a huge animal lover and support causes like the ASPCA.
HFI: What excites you most about joining our team?
Dr. Thompson: I’m eager to contribute to our center’s already stellar reputation. With my training from top institutions, I hope to bring new insights and skills. Being a lifelong Texan, I’m familiar with the Houston area, which should make my transition smooth as I start helping patients right away.
HFI: What message would you like to share with potential patients?
Dr. Thompson: Just take a deep breath! I’m here to listen and will do everything in my power to support you.
