They Were Selective About Their Transport Method, So They Went with a Personalized Approach!

My partner and I tied the knot in September 2018. She had a 14-year-old son who has truly become my own. We knew we wanted to expand our family, and I had always dreamed of experiencing pregnancy. After searching for the right sperm donor, we decided against using a sperm bank and instead sought a known donor. We were drawn to a personalized method that catered to our needs. That’s when we discovered an incredible option designed for couples like us.

Initially, we chose a donor who lived about two hours away. We were hopeful, and it worked on the first try, but sadly, I lost the baby at five weeks. Realizing that transporting over two hours for insemination during my ovulation was going to be complex, we decided it was time to look for a new donor. A high school friend of mine, who later became a roommate, offered to help. After a few cycles of miscalculating my ovulation, we finally succeeded on our fourth attempt, and we’re thrilled to be welcoming a little one this Christmas! 🎅🎄

We’re grateful for the bond we share with our donor, who is eager to take on an “Uncle” role. We feel very blessed and can’t wait to embark on this new adventure of parenthood.

How long were we trying before we found our method?

Six months or less. We used our chosen method four times; the first resulted in a chemical pregnancy, while the next two attempts were unsuccessful due to tracking errors. But the fourth time was a charm, just in time since we were running low on supplies!
