Hey there! Just a quick update on some exciting research opportunities related to fertility. Although there are currently no active studies at our center, we encourage you to check back for any new developments!
At our facility, all research protocols are thoroughly reviewed by our Medical Board for scientific validity. We adhere to high standards for planning, informed consent, and safety, following the guidelines set by the federal Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP). This ensures that every study goes through an independent review by an Investigational Review Board (IRB).
Right now, there’s an intriguing study open for enrollment titled “Effectiveness and Safety Research Study of a Single Injection of Investigational Drug compared to Daily recFSH Injections in Women Undergoing Controlled Ovarian Stimulation (PURSUE).” This study is being conducted in collaboration with Schering-Plough Research Institute, which has selected our location as one of approximately 35 sites across the U.S.
So, why is this study important?
The aim is to assess how well a single injection of corifollitropin alfa (an investigational drug) works at stimulating the development of multiple follicles compared to the traditional daily injections of recFSH (300 IU). They will track outcomes like the number of viable pregnancies, growing follicles, eggs retrieved, and ultimately babies born.
Who can participate?
Females aged 35 to 42 who are experiencing infertility, weigh at least 110.3 lbs with a BMI between 18 and 32, have regular menstrual cycles, and are using sperm from a partner or donor can potentially enroll. If you’re curious about your eligibility, don’t hesitate to reach out for an appointment.
