Overcoming Male Factor Issues with At-Home Insemination

It’s been a journey, but my partner and I are finally on our way to welcoming a new life. After three years of trying to conceive naturally yielded no results, we turned to a combination of resources, including California CryoBank and a reliable at-home insemination kit.

I’m thrilled to share our story of unexplained infertility and how we found hope. After raising my two children from a previous relationship, we felt ready to expand our family together. However, after many attempts without success, we consulted with a fertility specialist. Sadly, we learned that my partner faced significant challenges in achieving a pregnancy. Life got busy, but I eventually sought help at a fertility clinic. Thankfully, my health was in great shape with no underlying issues.

After researching various options and considering our budget, we decided to try at-home insemination. We bought several donor vials from the sperm bank and an insemination kit. With careful timing of my ovulation cycle, we completed the procedure at home. To our surprise and joy, I missed my cycle the following month, and we discovered we were expecting our little miracle in December 2020! We couldn’t believe our luck: we conceived on the first try with just one donor vial.

A huge thank you to California CryoBank for their invaluable support, and to the team behind the insemination kit for helping us realize our dream. We hope our story inspires others facing similar challenges to consider their options, including our blog post about the process of at-home insemination that you can check out here, along with resources from Make A Mom that discuss the ins and outs of artificial insemination kits. If you’re curious about other fertility options, this Wikipedia page about in vitro fertilisation is also a great resource.
