This year, the event attracted 203 runners, 102 walkers, and 21 corporate sponsors, collectively raising almost $60,000! Dr. Alex Rivera, a physician involved with the Cade Foundation, expressed pride in the team’s efforts, saying, “We love contributing through fundraising and volunteering to support couples facing infertility challenges.”
And guess what? It’s not too late to show your support for the Cade Foundation. You can still donate!
The impressive amount raised stemmed from a variety of staff-led initiatives at each office, including everything from a Frederick Keys baseball game to a potluck lunch and various raffles. The offices alone contributed over $2,800. Fundraising events during the race included a spirited 5K run and a fun walk, plus the much-anticipated tricycle race featuring SGF’s embryology team, who claimed victory this year.
To add excitement to Race Day, the organization raffled off a fantastic prize: up to $10,000 for fertility treatment, donated by the foundation. Dr. Lisa Green, CEO of the Cade Foundation, noted, “This prize not only raises awareness but also supports family building efforts at our event. All proceeds from the raffle benefit the Cade Foundation, making it beneficial for both the organization and couples trying to conceive.”
One of the previous raffle winners, Jessica Carter, attended the race with her daughter Ava, sharing her own journey of success after winning treatment. “It was incredible to return and see so many families. Each stroller represents a miracle,” she reminisced.
This year’s lucky raffle winners were Tom and Emily James. They expressed their joy by saying, “After years of struggling with infertility, the Cade Foundation has provided us with a chance we thought was lost. We’re thrilled to continue our journey and are grateful for the support.”
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s Race for the Family: the dedicated staff, the enthusiastic runners and walkers, our generous corporate sponsors, and all the donors who made this possible. For nearly ten years, we’ve joined forces with the Cade Foundation to raise over $500,000 to assist couples battling infertility.
