Our Journey to Discovering an IVF Alternative

Hey friends! We wanted to share our personal story about finding a more accessible alternative to IVF.

So, my husband Jake and I are in our late 30s. We welcomed our daughter back in 2021 without any hiccups, so we thought trying for another child would be just as straightforward. But when we started trying again in July 2022, things didn’t go as planned. Despite our efforts, nothing happened, and we were confused as to why. Our doctors assured us everything was normal and mentioned we could see a fertility specialist whenever we felt ready.

Fast forward to September 2023, when we decided to take that step. After numerous tests, Jake’s results came back normal, but I discovered I had a low AMH level. The specialists told us that our chances of conceiving through IUI were significantly low, and IVF offered only a 30-40% chance. I was heartbroken and thought our dreams of expanding our family were slipping away.

Then a friend casually mentioned that he had success with an at-home insemination kit. At that point, our insurance had denied us for IVF coverage, and I was overwhelmed by the constant back-and-forth with the fertility clinic. We felt we had nothing to lose, so we decided to give it a shot. We ordered the kit in November, followed the instructions, and by the end of the month, we were pregnant!

I honestly wish more people knew about this option. We saved so much time and money without having to endure the rigors of IVF. Plus, the process was super simple and the kit looked great on our shelf! If we decide to try for another baby in the future, we’ll definitely be using this method again.
