Hey there! I’m Mia Thompson, and I grew up in the beautiful hills of Northern California. Coming from a family filled with medical professionals, it was only natural for me to feel drawn to the medical field myself. The summer before I started college, I got a taste of what that world was like by attending a National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine, which solidified my passion for healthcare. I then began my journey at the University of California, Davis, diving deep into math and science courses for two years.

After a particularly grueling second year, I realized I needed a breather. So, I decided to take a quarter off to explore my other love: culture and people. I shifted gears and immersed myself in classes like history, sociology, and international relations, which fueled my curiosity about the diverse backgrounds around me. Ultimately, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. During my final year, I interned with a breast cancer awareness program for the Latina community through the American Cancer Society, and right after graduation, I landed a full-time role there until the funding ran out. With some free time on my hands, I traveled around Europe, soaking in new experiences.

When I returned, I was eager to jump back into the workforce. I wanted a role that combined my interests in medicine and my passion for helping others. After what felt like an endless job search, I decided to take a temporary position while continuing to look for something more permanent. That’s when I found a job posting at the Egg Donor Agency. I didn’t know much about IVF or egg donation, but the opportunity intrigued me. After meeting with Dr. Smith and Dr. Johnson, I instantly felt this was where I belonged.

Working at the Egg Donor Agency has been incredibly fulfilling. I’m part of a compassionate team dedicated to helping individuals and couples build their families. As the Program Manager, I interact with both egg donors and recipients, gaining knowledge about medical advancements while sharing my passion for humanity with people from various backgrounds wanting to expand their families. It’s truly rewarding to leave work each day knowing I’ve made a positive impact on someone’s life.

On a personal note, when I’m not at the agency, you can find me off on new adventures, exploring uncharted territories around the globe. I also enjoy volunteering for different charities and participating in group training sessions for full and half marathons that raise awareness and funds for various causes. To sum it up, my path to the Egg Donor Agency has been a mix of passion, exploration, and the joy of helping others. Every day is a new opportunity to learn and make a difference.
