Hey friends, I’m excited to share an incredible journey that took five long years, filled with hurdles, but thankfully ended on a high note! My partner, Jamie, and I were on this rollercoaster ride of trying to conceive (TTC) for what felt like forever. I faced a significant challenge with vaginismus, which made things pretty complicated.
After stumbling across some inspiring stories, I learned about at-home insemination techniques that could help us. To add to the mix, I had just undergone surgery to remove my thyroid due to cancer, leaving my hormones completely out of whack. But with the aid of an ovulation tracker and some guidance, we finally did it—I got my big fat positive (BFP) yesterday! I’m pregnant!
Overcoming Obstacles
To answer a couple of questions you might have—yes, I did face obstacles with vaginismus, and we had been trying for about six months before discovering this amazing method. We even tried IUI at a clinic, but it was just one cycle with at-home insemination that did the trick.
Congratulations to us, right? We couldn’t be happier! I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the community for sharing their stories, which helped me realize that I wasn’t alone in this struggle. Your experiences made a real difference in our TTC journey. Wishing everyone out there a smooth path to parenthood—remember, you’re not alone!
