Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a great day! I know I’m a bit late in sharing this, but I just had to tell you about our incredible experience. Back in August 2019, we decided to try for a baby using an at-home insemination kit. After getting our hands on the kit and a box of ovulation tests, we took our first test on August 17, but it came back negative. Still, we didn’t let that stop us and went ahead with the insemination.
Fast forward to September—my period was due on the 1st, but it never showed up. On September 22, we took another ovulation test, and guess what? It was positive! We were super grateful because our sperm donor was amazing and had generously donated his sperm to us. After texting him, we had to wait until 2 a.m. the next day for him to do his thing, but it was totally worth the wait. While inseminating, we both prayed and played some baby music, really getting into the moment.
Then, on October 3, my partner said I should take a pregnancy test. I was so nervous! When I saw that positive sign, I was in total shock. I even went to buy more tests just to be sure. I scheduled an appointment, but the clinic said it was negative. I couldn’t believe it, especially after getting those positive results at home. So, I bought more tests, and they all came back positive! My primary doctor confirmed the pregnancy, and today, we have a healthy five-month-old baby boy named Baby J 😊!
If being fashionably late means we get to share our sweet little one with all of you, then it’s all good! We’re so proud of navigating this journey together amidst all the ups and downs. It’s stories like ours that encourage others to try home insemination methods, like the ones from Make A Mom or the valuable information on Healthline.
Thank you for letting us share our journey with you all! And if you’re looking for an inspiring tale, you might also want to check out how some people helped reunite kids with their lost stuffed animals during those tough times in this blog post.
