How We Calculate These Estimates

Our calculator uses 2026 national average cost data compiled from the following sources:

  • IVF costs: Based on published pricing from ASRM member clinics. Includes retrieval, transfer, anesthesia, and embryology lab fees. Medication estimates reflect injectable gonadotropin protocols.
  • IUI costs: Based on average clinic pricing for medicated IUI cycles, including sperm wash, catheter procedure, and ultrasound monitoring.
  • At-home ICI costs: Based on retail pricing for commercially available insemination kits, OTC ovulation prediction kits, and prenatal supplements.
  • Donor material: Sperm bank pricing averaged across major U.S. banks (Seattle Sperm Bank, California Cryobank, Fairfax) for anonymous donor ICI-ready vials.
  • Insurance adjustments: Partial coverage assumes a typical fertility benefit covering diagnostics and a portion of procedure costs. Full coverage assumes a state-mandated or employer-provided benefit covering most procedure costs.
  • Age adjustments: Older age groups may require additional monitoring, medication dosing, or cycle attempts, reflected as higher per-cycle estimates for clinical procedures.

These are estimates for planning purposes only. Actual costs vary by location, provider, and individual circumstances. Consult your insurance provider and fertility clinic for exact pricing.
