Hannah and Mark celebrated their dream of parenthood with the arrival of baby Noah after undergoing IVF treatment at Simply Fertility. The couple faced unexplained infertility and decided to use donor eggs after their first IVF attempt with Hannah’s eggs didn’t succeed. They found the whole journey to be quite simple, and soon enough, Noah, who is now two and a half, was welcomed into their lives.
Hannah shares, “We decided to go for a second child; our initial attempt in early 2017 didn’t work out, and then our matched donor had to withdraw due to personal reasons. Luckily, we were quickly matched again, but the eggs were frozen while I underwent surgery, which messed up our timing a bit.”
“This time felt so much easier,” Hannah continues. “I was on tablets instead of injections, which made it more relaxed. Plus, I had weekly acupuncture, which I would highly recommend.” They decided to implant two embryos in November, and to their joy, a scan just before Christmas revealed they were expecting twins.
“The first weeks were a bit nerve-wracking due to some bleeding caused by a common condition called cervical ectropion. Thankfully, the bleeding stopped by 18 weeks.” A gender scan in her second trimester confirmed she was having twin boys. Freddie and Jack arrived via planned emergency c-section at 36 weeks.
“Mr. Thompson, our consultant, came to see us when the twins were just five days old. Noah is the perfect big brother! At first, he was a little indifferent, but now he’s super protective and loves his little brothers,” Hannah says with a smile. Freddie was smaller and needed some help with jaundice, while Jack had low blood sugar issues for a few hours. Despite everything, they were thrilled to have their beautiful boys safe and sound.
The family made a visit back to Simply Fertility to thank the staff and added a wooden heart to the tree in the waiting area. “We can’t thank Sarah and Andy and the entire team enough. We couldn’t recommend them more. Mr. Thompson joked about us trying for a girl next, but let’s take it slow for now!”
