Can you believe it? This August marks the second anniversary of our amazing Egg Bank! Launched as the first independent egg bank in Northern California, it represents a groundbreaking approach to fertility with state-of-the-art egg freezing technology. We began our journey of freezing donor eggs back in 2007 and celebrated our first baby born from frozen donor eggs in 2008. But it wasn’t until August 2012 that we officially opened our doors to the public. Over those early years, we dedicated ourselves to perfecting our laboratory techniques to ensure the best possible success rates for our patients.
The Egg Bank was born from a vision to extend options for individuals and couples looking to start or grow their families with donor eggs. In 2013 alone, we helped 36 patients with egg thaws, and this year, we’ve already supported 25 more! As demand for frozen donor eggs has increased, so has our selection of donors.
When we first launched, we offered just 8 donor profiles; today, we’re thrilled to provide 26 profiles with frozen eggs ready for use. Each donor is selected based on their excellent qualities and undergoes thorough screening to meet the latest standards.
For anyone interested in a cycle with our Egg Bank, a consultation with one of our physicians is necessary. You’ll need to meet specific medical criteria to participate. If that criteria isn’t met, we may recommend pursuing a fresh donor cycle instead.
