Celebrating One Year of the Egg Bank!

Hey friends! We’re excited to share that the Egg Bank has just marked its one-year milestone! On August 1st of last year, we opened our doors to the community with the aim of providing a seamless path to parenthood through frozen donor eggs. This endeavor was inspired by the advancements in egg freezing technology that began making waves back in 2006.

In our first year, we proudly assisted 31 individuals and couples in realizing their dreams of starting or expanding their families. Unlike traditional “fresh” donor cycles, which can take 3-6 months due to the need for coordination with the donor, our frozen eggs are ready to go! This means patients can start their journeys much quicker—often completing their treatment in just around 2 months.

Not only does the Egg Bank offer a more accessible financial option compared to fresh cycles (think $22K for frozen versus $35K-$45K for fresh), but it also simplifies the process for those ready to start their families. In a fresh cycle, the recipient gets all the embryos created, which is ideal for those wanting to ensure future embryos for siblings or genetic testing. However, with our Egg Bank, donors have already completed their cycles, and we’re ready to thaw and fertilize the eggs with the recipient’s sperm, typically resulting in two solid embryos for transfer.

Our team has worked diligently to recruit and screen young women to be donors, ensuring they meet stringent medical and educational standards. In the past year alone, we’ve collaborated with 20 donors, giving our patients a variety of choices.

And here’s the best part: our success rates with frozen donor eggs are just as impressive as those with fresh eggs! With our recently optimized thawing techniques, we’ve achieved a 75% pregnancy rate and a 63% clinical pregnancy rate per transfer. This is a testament to the hard work of our clinical and lab teams who focus on every detail from donor screening to the embryo development environment.

As we celebrate this anniversary, we’re not just looking back; we’re thrilled to continue helping families grow. To wrap it up, we’re immensely proud of our first year and excited for what’s to come. Here’s to more families and more success stories!
