It was only after the birth of my first child that I discovered I had PCOS. For years, the dynamic of my relationship made me hesitant about expanding our family. I constantly worried about my daughter feeling unloved because her father and I split. I didn’t want her to think that having a different dad meant she was any less cherished. After addressing those feelings, I began to feel ready for another child when my first was around 5 or 6, and surprisingly, she was excited about the idea too!

I spent a couple of years searching for the right partner but without any success. Eventually, I turned to insemination for help. Early in 2021, I met someone and thought about trying the traditional route, but due to my PCOS, it just didn’t work out. After months of challenges, I decided to explore at-home insemination, which led me to some amazing resources like Make A Mom. We tried for several months with no success, but then, just after ringing in the New Year, I found out I was pregnant! This journey has been incredible, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to become a mom once again.

In summary, despite the hurdles of PCOS and finding the right partner, I was able to navigate my way to a new pregnancy. The support from various at-home insemination options made all the difference.
