My partner, Alex, and I both share a physical condition that causes stiffness in our joints. For several years, we attempted to conceive on our own without any success. Initially, I thought my PCOS was to blame; however, a fertility specialist suggested that we might not be reaching our target effectively. After two unsuccessful intrauterine insemination (IUI) procedures and some unconventional attempts, we decided to explore a different avenue—MakeAmom.
After four years of trying to conceive (TTC) and just two cycles with MakeAmom, we finally saw those two precious lines on a test! Our baby was due in May 2021, just a week after my birthday. Sadly, we faced heartbreak when we learned that the umbilical cord was wrapped around our baby, leading to a stillbirth in February. When we were cleared to try again, we opted for MakeAmom once more. After two cycles, we were thrilled to find out we were pregnant again, only to experience another loss shortly thereafter. My doctor advised us to try again in the next cycle since I would be fertile, so we again turned to MakeAmom. Despite my doubts about conceiving so soon, I was overjoyed when I found out I was pregnant again. Third time’s a charm, right?
MakeAmom has given me hope after months of disappointment. While we pray that this pregnancy continues to thrive, we also trust that MakeAmom will provide us with more opportunities to become the wonderful parents we aspire to be. I feel immense gratitude for having the chance to carry our little one, even if only for a brief time. I genuinely believe that if I hadn’t taken a chance on their product, I would still be waiting for my moment.
I would love to share our journey with the MakeAmom community. Thank you for your kind encouragement; we are excitedly watching this new little life grow, and I hope to reach out in March with joyful news about our precious MakeAmom baby.
