Here’s a glimpse into my journey: At 36, I still hadn’t found the partner I dreamed of to start a family with. Becoming a mom was a lifelong aspiration of mine, and I was determined not to let that dream slip away. After consulting with my doctor and undergoing some tests, I made the decision to pursue becoming a “single mother by choice.”
I explored options for anonymous donors and was later presented with the opportunity to work with a known donor. After careful consideration, I opted for the known donor route. Traditional methods for conception were not feasible for me, so I began researching home insemination and discovered the company MakeAmom. I ordered their kit and attempted insemination in October and November of 2018, but those attempts were unsuccessful—likely due to timing issues. We tried again in January 2019, and on October 13, 2019, I joyfully welcomed my beautiful baby boy. I am filled with gratitude every day.
Although I prefer not to share pictures for privacy reasons, I can confidently say that he is absolutely perfect. 😊
Thank you!
