Hey everyone! I’m excited to introduce myself – my name is Jamie Thompson, and I’m the newly appointed Director of Development here at our center. While I’ve always called California my home, I come from a military family that moved around quite a bit. I was born in Seattle, Washington, the oldest of three and the only guy in the bunch. Growing up, I got to experience living abroad in Madrid, Spain, before settling down in Colorado and finally finding my roots in Northern California. I’ve explored every corner of this beautiful state, from sunny San Diego to the north in Redding and everything in between!
Traveling at a young age has instilled a deep appreciation for exploration in me, and when I’m not working, you can find me either planning my next trip or cheering on the San Francisco Giants. When it came to college, I tried my hand at various subjects—political science, theater, and psychology—but none really clicked for me until I took a communications course on the advice of my dad. That is where I discovered my passion! I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, focusing on Public Relations and Broadcasting.
After college, I dipped my toes into the hospitality industry as a concierge in upscale hotels across Colorado and California. It was a wild ride, meeting fascinating people, including presidents and even a few ghosts—perfect for the spooky season! Eventually, I transitioned to healthcare, where I found my niche working alongside physicians. Over nearly 20 years in healthcare, I’ve been part of various medical groups and hospital systems, always driven by one core idea: the patient’s outcome is the ultimate measure of success.
A common question I often faced was, “Why do doctors or medical organizations need marketing or public relations?” My answer? The healthcare landscape has evolved dramatically over the past two decades. With increasing competition and new technologies, physicians focus on patient care, not crafting press releases or managing their public image.
In my new role, I’ll be diving into branding and image development, overseeing all our publications, handling media inquiries, organizing press events, and acting as the bridge between our team and referring physicians. I’m thrilled to join a team where the experts are not just knowledgeable but also genuinely care for their patients. The staff here is incredibly professional and compassionate, and I’m looking forward to this rewarding journey as we work together to help create new families.
By the way, if you’re curious about home insemination techniques, check out our other blog post on aluminum insights here. And for those looking for great resources on pregnancy and home insemination, the ACOG has some excellent information. If you’re interested in at-home insemination kits, I found CryoBaby to be a top choice!
In summary, I’m excited to embark on this new role and contribute to our mission of supporting individuals in their fertility journeys.
