Hey friends! We’re thrilled to share that our Egg Bank just marked its third anniversary this past August—what a journey it’s been! Our mission has always been about making it easier for folks to grow their families through the use of donor eggs. Recently, we hit some fantastic milestones: we celebrated our 100th embryo transfer and welcomed our 45th baby into the world, with more deliveries on the horizon. Plus, we’ve seen a surge in interest, prompting us to expand our selection of egg donors.

Frozen vs. Fresh Donor Eggs

Now, let’s talk about frozen versus fresh donor eggs. A recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association examined more than 11,000 IVF procedures using donor eggs and revealed that frozen egg cycles led to a 47% live birth rate, while fresh egg cycles had a 56% success rate. It’s essential to remember, though, that these numbers don’t tell the whole story—each clinic has its unique methodologies and patient profiles that can influence success rates.

With advancements in cryopreservation techniques like vitrification, it’s safe to say that today’s outcomes are likely better than those from years past. In fact, when the American Society of Reproductive Medicine lifted the “experimental” label from vitrification, they emphasized the importance of looking at specific clinic data when considering success rates.

Our Success Rates

Speaking of success, we’re proud to say our numbers are above the national average! Our frozen donor eggs boast an impressive 86% thaw rate and an 85% fertilization rate. When it comes to pregnancy, we have a 62% clinical pregnancy rate and a 52% delivery rate for fresh donor eggs, while frozen donor eggs show a 60% clinical pregnancy rate and a 55% delivery rate. Interestingly, we found that frozen eggs perform just as well as their fresh counterparts, thanks to our extensive experience with cryopreservation.

Why We’ve Been Successful

Why have we been so successful? We were among the pioneers in using vitrification, a method that has significantly increased the viability of eggs. Our experts have been teaching this technique globally, continuously improving outcomes.
