We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Alex Turner has joined our amazing team! After wrapping up his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at the esteemed Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Turner is excited to bring his expertise back to his hometown.
A proud Houstonian, Dr. Turner graduated from the University of Texas at Austin before earning his medical degree from Baylor. His residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology took place at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, where he excelled as Administrative Chief Resident. He’s board-certified and affiliated with the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Growing up in a family of doctors (his father is one of our very own, Dr. Michael Turner!), Dr. Turner witnessed the profound impact that a career in medicine can have on people’s lives. Reflecting on his journey, he shared, “As I progressed through my training, it became clear to me that I wanted to dedicate my career to helping patients in the REI field. This specialty combines fascinating science with innovative technology, but the best part is connecting with patients and aiding them on their unique journeys.”
During his fellowship, Dr. Turner engaged in research that explored new applications for FDA-approved drugs in treating endometriosis. Yet, his most cherished moments come from ensuring that women and couples feel supported throughout their journey, no matter the outcome.
Looking ahead, Dr. Turner is optimistic about the advancements in preimplantation genetic testing and the potential to improve IVF success rates. He believes that understanding embryo function and optimizing the uterine environment could be game-changers in enhancing pregnancy rates.
When he’s not at work, Dr. Turner is a huge sports enthusiast, always ready to discuss the latest triumphs (or struggles!) of the Texans, Astros, or Longhorns. He and his partner love experimenting with new recipes or checking out the vibrant restaurant scene in Houston.
