We’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team, Dr. Emily Carter! She recently completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at a prestigious institution, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our practice.
Her Journey in Medicine
During her fellowship, Dr. Carter was instrumental in establishing a low-cost IVF program, an initiative that she found deeply fulfilling. Thanks to the support from her clinical director, her team managed to provide IVF services at significantly reduced prices for low-income and uninsured individuals in the Newark area.
Before her fellowship, Dr. Carter honed her skills during her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Additionally, she earned a Master of Science in Human Physiology from the University of Cincinnati, and a Bachelor of Arts in Brain Behavior and Cognitive Science with a minor in Sociocultural Anthropology from the University of Michigan.
Passion for Women’s Health
When asked what motivated her to specialize in reproductive endocrinology, Dr. Carter shared, “Throughout my medical training, I always had a passion for women’s health, but I was particularly attracted to REI because of its complexity and innovative nature. I really enjoy raising awareness about fertility preservation and helping people build their families.”
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead, Dr. Carter believes that artificial intelligence will be the next big thing in fertility. She’s currently investigating how AI can assist in evaluating the endometrium during frozen embryo transfers. Her research has been published in various peer-reviewed journals and she has presented her findings at major conferences, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Society for Reproductive Investigation.
Outside of Work
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Carter loves to travel with her husband and explore new cultures—especially through their cuisine! She is eager to contribute her dedication to women’s health at our clinic and is committed to advancing reproductive medicine through advocacy and research. We’re excited to welcome Dr. Carter to our team!
