We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Emily Carter, our newest addition to the team! During her orientation, she took the time to share some fascinating insights about herself, and we couldn’t wait to pass them along to you.
Let’s get to know Dr. Carter a bit better:
Did you always envision yourself as a doctor?
Absolutely! From a young age, I loved playing doctor in my backyard, often performing “surgeries” on stuffed animals with a makeshift kit that included spoons and band-aids.
What inspired you to specialize in Reproductive Endocrinology?
My passion for the complexities of reproduction blossomed throughout medical school. After working with couples facing infertility, I knew this was the path for me. There’s something incredibly rewarding about helping people realize their dreams of parenthood.
How would you describe your communication style with patients?
I strive to be approachable and patient. I want my patients to feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their concerns. My goal is to ensure that by the end of our visit, they leave feeling informed and reassured.
What was the last film you watched in theaters?
I recently watched The Greatest Showman with friends. We picked it on a whim, and I ended up loving the music and the inspiring story!
What excites you most about joining our team?
I’m eager to build lasting relationships with my patients and collaborate with the skilled physicians in our community. I aim to be a reliable source of support and knowledge for those navigating their family-building journeys.
If you could share one piece of advice about fertility, what would it be?
Fertility is a valuable gift that many don’t fully appreciate until challenges arise. It’s vital to understand the biological clock and the importance of seeking help early. With the right support, couples can take proactive steps to safeguard their fertility and achieve their family goals.
Do you have any adventurous hobbies, like skydiving?
Not at all! I’m more of a “stay grounded” type. The closest I’ve come to an adrenaline rush was zip-lining through a forest, which I recommend—it’s thrilling but much safer!
What do you enjoy doing in your leisure time?
I love spending time outdoors with my family, whether hiking or having a picnic. Cooking is another passion of mine; I enjoy experimenting with new recipes and hosting family dinners.
What’s your favorite book?
I adore novels by Jane Austen; her storytelling and characters are timeless.
Are you guilty of having messy handwriting?
Only when I’m in a rush! Otherwise, I take pride in my neat, legible notes.
Do you prefer summer or winter?
Definitely summer! I thrive in the warmth, though I do enjoy a good snow day now and then—complete with hot cocoa, of course.
