Dr. Carter recommended that I give Weight Watchers a try. Feeling a bit disheartened but determined, I signed up for a monthly membership when I got home, planning to attend my first meeting on January 3, 2013.

At that initial meeting, I stepped on the scale and saw 244.4 pounds—a daunting figure. However, I learned about the Weight Watchers Points program and was encouraged to attend weekly meetings for support. To my surprise, the weight began to melt away. As of today, I’ve reached 210 pounds and I’m still progressing. Remarkably, my ovulation has returned naturally, without additional medical assistance, though we’re keeping an eye on it.

The toughest part of this journey was simply getting started. I never imagined I would see myself at 210 pounds again. There were times I hesitated to step on the scale at the doctor’s office, fearing the number would be higher than before. Now, I request to be weighed because I love witnessing my progress!

Building a Supportive Team

Now almost 32, I’ve dreamt of becoming a mother for as long as I can remember, and I couldn’t understand why it wasn’t happening. Although there were moments of frustration and impatience with my weight loss, my Weight Watchers leader, Dr. Carter, and Nurse Jenna Thompson have been instrumental in keeping me motivated and focused on my goals.

Every Thursday, I update Nurse Jenna on my weekly weight loss, and she shares my progress with Dr. Carter. Their enthusiasm for my journey has created a strong bond—I’ve never had a healthcare team so invested in my personal goals. They feel like family to me as I strive to achieve my aspirations.

I feel motivated and uplifted. Weight Watchers has been the right choice for me, and I’m grateful to Dr. Carter for suggesting it. I’m excited about reaching my goal of weighing under 200 pounds and eventually hitting my target of 141.

If there’s one thing to take away from my story, it’s that change is possible. I’m living proof that if you’re committed to improving your life and achieving your dream of parenthood, following the guidance of medical professionals can lead to outcomes more rewarding than you ever imagined!
