Treatment Doesn’t Take a Snow Day

When the weather takes a turn for the worse, our commitment to patient care remains unwavering, no matter the season. We understand that fertility treatments are time-sensitive and can’t just pause for snowstorms or icy conditions. Our team is prepared to ensure that patients receive the care they need, regardless of what Mother Nature throws our way.

If a storm is on the horizon, we start planning early. Each location assesses its situation to determine whether to remain open. In the event an office does close, we reach out to patients to either reschedule their appointments or direct them to another office that remains operational.

For those critical procedures, like egg retrievals, our three main embryology labs are always ready to go, located in Rockville, MD; Towson, MD; and Chesterbrook, PA. Even if the weather gets rough, these facilities are staffed by dedicated professionals who might spend the night in local hotels just to ensure they’re available for their patients.

Patient Safety First

While some procedures are essential, others can be rescheduled without impacting your treatment cycle. For instance, embryo transfers can often be safely postponed by a day without harm to your chances of success. If your physician deems it appropriate to reschedule an appointment, you’ll be contacted directly by a Patient Service Representative or your nurse.

If you’re ever uncertain about whether your appointment is still on due to bad weather, don’t hesitate to reach out to your office or nurse for the latest updates.
