At our core, we aim to make fertility treatments more affordable and accessible to everyone. We’re not just about the number of doctors or clinics we have; our mission extends beyond that. For over 25 years, our team has been actively advocating for better coverage and access to fertility care nationwide. Sometimes, these changes start right where the laws are made.
So, listen up, lawmakers!
Making changes at the federal level isn’t a quick process. That’s why we deeply appreciate the courageous individuals and couples who have shared their stories. We also applaud our dedicated doctors who tirelessly advocate for patients and our partner, RESOLVE: the National Infertility Association. They’re always working to make fertility care more accessible.
Our Doctors Are Making Strides
For instance, just last month, Dr. Emily Johnson and Dr. Mark Thompson from our Maryland location pushed for including fertility preservation before cancer treatments into state mandates. They spoke before local legislators, illustrating how the hefty costs and stress burden many patients with an impossible choice: pay for cancer treatment or jeopardize their chances of starting a family.
Inspiring Stories
Also, remember the inspiring story of Sarah and Mike? After Mike returned from military service, they faced fertility challenges due to his injuries. They became advocates, sharing their struggle and highlighting the need for fertility benefits for veterans. Their efforts led to some progress in funding fertility treatments through the VA.
Want to Make a Difference? Here’s How You Can Get Involved:
- Join Advocacy Day: For years, our community has gathered in Washington, D.C. to speak directly with Congress about important issues. It’s a fantastic opportunity to have your voice heard! RESOLVE offers training to prepare you for this empowering day.
- Write to Your Representative: If you can’t make it to D.C., don’t worry. A few letters can grab the attention of your local representative. Sharing personal experiences can really help them understand the importance of insurance coverage for fertility treatments. Last year, many of our patients wrote letters, making a significant impact.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in Advocacy Day, and to those planning to join in the future. Your voices truly matter. If you want to share your story, we encourage you to reach out!
