We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Emily Carter, M.D., Ph.D., has joined our team here in Northern Virginia! Starting in February, she’ll be seeing patients at our Fairfax location, offering a comprehensive array of cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment options for both male and female infertility, as well as services for elective egg freezing and family building for the LGBTQ community. Plus, she’ll help with fertility preservation for those facing cancer treatment.

Dr. Carter earned her medical degree and Ph.D. from the Technical University of Munich. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University Hospital and went on to do a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institutes of Health. With a strong background, she has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and is currently researching embryo transfer timing as part of our team.

Her clinical focus is broad, covering all aspects of infertility. She’s especially passionate about optimizing outcomes for patients with diminished ovarian reserve and exploring advancements in IVF and fertility preservation. In her own words, Dr. Carter shared that she became a reproductive endocrinologist because “being involved in helping someone start a family is incredibly fulfilling.”

When she’s not in the office, Dr. Carter enjoys skiing and spending quality time with her family on long hikes. She draws inspiration from everyone she meets, including her patients, who bravely navigate their fertility journeys. She’s also excited about being part of our team, which is known for its commitment to high-quality care and support.
