We’re excited to welcome Dr. Sarah Thompson, our newest physician, who will start seeing patients in April 2021. Dr. Thompson specializes in providing a comprehensive array of advanced diagnostic and treatment options for both female and male infertility, elective egg freezing, LGBTQ family building, and fertility preservation prior to cancer treatment.
Dr. Thompson’s journey into reproductive endocrinology began with a transformative moment during medical school when she witnessed the overwhelming joy of a couple hearing the words “you’re pregnant.” This experience deeply moved her and solidified her commitment to becoming a fertility specialist.
She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where she earned the 2016 Mayo International Health Program Scholarship, allowing her to travel to Uganda for an obstetrics elective. Additionally, she received the 2016 Pfizer President’s Award from the Society for Reproductive Investigation, recognizing her outstanding research contributions. After her residency, Dr. Thompson pursued a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh.
When she’s not busy caring for patients or presenting at national conferences, Dr. Thompson enjoys staying active through boating, yoga, barre classes, playing the cello, and cheering on her favorite sports teams. She lives in Silver Spring, MD, with her husband and young son.
