We can’t say enough great things about Burton Fertility and Nurture. It’s undoubtedly our top choice for when we decide to try again.
After four exhausting years of attempting to conceive and navigating countless tests and appointments at Burton Fertility, we began to lose hope that we would ever become parents. However, in April 2015, we received the incredible news that we were approved for NHS-funded fertility treatment. From our first appointment to the embryo transfer, the care and support from Burton Fertility and Nurture were truly outstanding. Every question we had was answered thoroughly, and in a way that made sense to us.
On August 31st, 2015, I took my pregnancy test and was in disbelief when I saw that it was positive. Just to be sure, I did a couple more tests, and they were all positive. It was amazing—it had worked on the first try with just that one embryo!
The staff at the clinic were fantastic, explaining every step and injection in detail, making it feel like nothing was too much trouble. They informed us that ICSI would be used for fertilization, and the following day, we got a call from Nurture updating us on our embryos. We were overjoyed to hear that 15 were developing well enough to reach the blastocyst stage, so we felt confident that we would have a good number of embryos, with some likely to be frozen.
When we returned on day five for the embryo transfer, we learned that we had one Grade B embryo. I was crushed. I had read that NHS-funded treatments often didn’t succeed on the first attempt, and this felt like our only shot. After the transfer, I was given a leaflet outlining when to take my pregnancy test two weeks later.
Fast forward to August 31st, 2015, and I couldn’t believe my eyes—the test was positive! I double-checked with a few more tests, and they were all positive too. We were thrilled—it had worked the very first time with that one embryo.
Our joy reached its peak when Seth was born on May 13, 2016, weighing a healthy 11 pounds and 1 ounce.
