Got questions? Reach out!
Before we kick off your fertility journey, we’ll need you to come in for a quick pre-treatment ultrasound scan. Don’t worry, it’s totally painless and takes around 15 minutes. During this visit, we’ll also check your hormone levels and run some screening blood tests.
This scan, known as the Antral Follicle Count (AFC), helps us to:
- Predict how well your body will respond to any medications we prescribe
- Identify any potential issues with your ovaries or uterus that could affect your fertility
- Accurately diagnose conditions like polycystic ovaries or polycystic ovarian syndrome
Once we have the results, our clinician will walk you through everything and help develop a tailored treatment plan aimed at maximizing your chances of conceiving.
Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) Blood Test
Now, let’s talk about the Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) blood test. This hormone is produced by small ovarian follicles and can be assessed through a blood test. The AMH level gives us valuable insight into the number of follicles you have, which, in turn, indicates your egg count and how your ovaries might respond to fertility treatments.
Semen Analysis
Moving on to semen analysis, which is super important for understanding fertility. These tests can:
- Help determine the chances of achieving pregnancy with your partner
- Identify any sperm-related issues that may require medical intervention
- Guide us in choosing the most suitable treatment for both of you
If you need to provide a semen sample, we recommend doing it at the clinic for privacy and comfort, but if you’d prefer, you can produce a sample at home and bring it in within an hour. Just chat with our staff if you think that might be easier for you.
