As a same-sex couple, we ventured into at-home insemination after successfully conceiving our first child through IUI. One of our attempts involved using a unique insemination kit, and while it didn’t lead to a pregnancy, we absolutely loved the product! In fact, we kept the syringe and packaging as a reminder of our journey.
In 2019, we shifted our focus to IVF, seeking better odds since we had limited sperm reserves and a donor who had stopped providing. The IVF process was a whirlwind—exciting yet expensive! Then, the pandemic brought our plans to a standstill, which was a blessing in disguise. Fast forward three years, armed with a diagnosis of diminished ovarian reserve, we used our final vial of frozen sperm at home after relocating across the country. And guess what? We’re thrilled to share that our second daughter is on the way, due early in 2023! We’re still in disbelief and overflowing with gratitude for our journey.
