Our Journey to Parenthood as a Same-Sex Couple

As a same-sex couple, we initially believed that our baby-making adventure would kick off at a doctor’s office. However, after diving into some research, we discovered that at-home insemination could be a fantastic option for us, especially since we had a wonderful known donor. Our exploration (thanks to YouTube, Instagram, and various testimonials) led us to some amazing resources.

I had always been diligent about tracking my cycle, but about two months before we started trying to conceive, I added ovulation tracking using LH strips. The kit we found was super cute and came with some really uplifting messages inside. The syringe was comfortable and easy to use, which made the whole experience feel less intimidating. To our delight, we got our big fat positive (BFP) after just one cycle of trying! Now, we’re 16 weeks along with a little girl, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the guidance we received along the way.

And if you want to learn more about the process, there’s great info available on artificial insemination kits, like the ones provided by Cryobaby. For anyone needing resources on treating infertility, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has some excellent insights.

In summary, our journey has been filled with hope, research, and a dash of luck. We’re thrilled to be on this path to parenthood together!
