Hey friends! If you’re an iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV user and have recently updated your device to iOS 14, you might be seeing some ads that just don’t fit your vibe. Here’s what’s going on:
You might be encountering:
- Ads that you’d rather not see.
- The same ads popping up more often than before.
- Promotions for products or services that have no relevance to you anymore, like something you’ve already bought or don’t need.
As a brand that values its community, we totally understand your frustration. No one likes annoying ads that miss the mark! Especially when you’re on a journey that can be as emotional as trying to conceive.
So why is this happening?
It turns out there’s been quite the back-and-forth between Apple and Facebook. Apple’s stance is about protecting your privacy and giving you options. While we’re not experts, we’ve read a bit about it, and you can find more in-depth info on Apple’s explanation here. Basically, it’s similar to those websites that ask if you want to “accept cookies” to tailor ads based on your browsing history. Now, when you download an app that features ads, you can choose whether or not to let that app track your activity. If you opt out, your ad experience can change, and if you opt in, it stays the same.
As we learn more, we’ll do our best to ensure our ads are considerate of who sees them. We hope this sheds some light on the recent changes in our digital landscape!
