After several unsuccessful IUIs, one couple decided to give at-home insemination another shot before diving into IVF.

Anna (34 at the time) and her husband, Jake (38 at the time), had been trying to conceive for about two years after being off birth control for over four years. They began seeking help from fertility specialists and underwent some initial testing. However, they faced delays while waiting for insurance approval for an HSG procedure, which would have cost them around $1,000 out of pocket.

In the midst of this, Jake suggested trying an at-home insemination kit, and they discovered one that seemed promising. To their surprise, it worked on the first attempt! Anna was thrilled to find out she was pregnant, but unfortunately, she experienced a miscarriage shortly after. Despite the heartbreak, the experience gave them renewed hope.

After a few more months of trying unsuccessfully, they opted for IUIs. They went through four rounds, but each one ended without success. Their infertility remained “unexplained,” although Anna had an ovarian cyst that needed to be addressed before they could proceed with IVF. As her surgery date approached, they had one last at-home insemination kit left. They thought it was a long shot, but decided to give it another try. To their astonishment, it worked again! Just two weeks before her surgery, Anna received the news that she was pregnant.

Fast forward to today, and they are now the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl, who is one month old. The joy they feel is immeasurable, and they are incredibly grateful for the hope that at-home insemination offered them during their journey.
