Hey friends! We wanted to share our personal journey through trying to conceive (TTC), navigating the ups and downs of unexplained infertility, and finally finding success with at-home insemination.
My partner, Alex, and I, both in our mid-30s, spent over five years trying to start our family. After numerous tests, scans, and even a medicated IUI cycle, we were left scratching our heads as to why we weren’t pregnant yet. It felt like we were on an emotional rollercoaster, and the lack of answers from fertility specialists was frustrating.
Then, while reading a blog post about pregnancy, we stumbled across the concept of at-home insemination. Intrigued, we did some research and discovered it was not only less invasive and more intimate but also considerably more affordable than our previous attempts. Plus, it definitely wasn’t just the stereotypical “turkey baster” method! 🦃
Cue the drum roll… On June 14, after just one attempt with our at-home kit, we finally got our big fat positive (BFP)! Our doctor confirmed the pregnancy on June 16, and we were over the moon, knowing our little one would be joining us in early 2021. We’re so grateful for this option, and it’s become a mission of ours to share our story and help others who may be struggling as well.
Like many couples, we faced challenges along the way, including a tilted uterus and the frustration of unexplained infertility. For us, the journey was long—about five years before we found success with at-home insemination. We also tried Clomid and IUI at a fertility clinic, but nothing worked until we took matters into our own hands.
We’re excited to connect with others who have similar experiences and want to encourage everyone to explore all their options. If you’re curious about home insemination, check out resources like this one on treating infertility from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. You might also find helpful information on non-GMO infant formula here, which could be beneficial for your little one later on. To wrap it up, our journey has been filled with challenges, but we finally found joy and hope through at-home insemination. We can’t wait to welcome our bundle of joy and support others on this path!
