Hey there, friends! I’m Alex, and my partner is Jamie. We’ve been together for quite some time and are super excited to start our family soon. After chatting with a buddy who was open to donating, we decided to give it a go. Initially, we tried the soft cup method three times, but, unfortunately, it didn’t work out for us like it does for some couples.
Determined to explore other options for at-home insemination, we stumbled upon some fantastic resources. One site we found particularly helpful was Make a Mom, which has a great selection of kits. After some research, we decided to try home insemination instead!
We took a couple of months off to emotionally prepare ourselves around the holidays, and during that time, I convinced Jamie to join me in the effort! When January came, we got our ovulation tests ready and had our donor on standby. As luck would have it, Jamie ovulated first, so we timed our inseminations perfectly. We managed to inseminate twice during her peak ovulation window, which was so exciting!
In the same month, we attempted to inseminate once more with me, but it was too early. Thankfully, it worked with Jamie! Now, we’re over the moon with joy because we’re expecting our little one soon. We can’t wait to meet our baby, whether it’s a boy or girl!
A huge thank you to all the supportive resources out there that help couples like us. If you’re looking for more insights, check out ACOG for some excellent information on pregnancy and home insemination. Also, if you’re curious about our baby’s expected arrival, you can read more about it in another one of our blog posts here.
To wrap it up, our journey was filled with ups and downs, but we’re grateful for every moment. If you’re considering home insemination, stay hopeful and keep exploring your options. You’ve got this!
