Hey there, friends! I’m currently 11 weeks and 2 days pregnant, and I’m still pinching myself to believe it’s real! My partner and I got pregnant with our first child when I was just 18. At the time, the idea of being pregnant was overwhelming, but our son has been the greatest blessing of our lives. We tied the knot when he was three, and we never imagined that expanding our family would turn out to be such a lengthy and challenging journey.
For almost a decade, we faced the heartache of secondary infertility. Each month brought disappointment after disappointment, with negative pregnancy tests that chipped away at our hope. I had numerous tests done, but getting my partner to agree to see a specialist was another challenge altogether. Why was it so easy the first time? Now, when we felt ready and capable, we were met with obstacles.
By September 2018, we decided it was time to refocus our prayers for a baby. In a bold move, we sold our home and bought a new one within six weeks, believing it was a sign to make space for a miracle. We were hopeful that we would be pregnant by the year’s end; little did we know it would take even longer.
In January 2019, with still no baby on the way, my partner finally agreed to an appointment with a fertility specialist. His sperm count was low, but not critically so. Our doctor suggested we were good candidates for intrauterine insemination (IUI), and we were thrilled to finally see a path forward.
While we worried about the costs, we held onto our faith that everything would work out. As I got caught up with school, I didn’t have much time to dwell on when our appointment would happen. However, by summer, I followed up and found out it was challenging to book with the specialist, but we could expect an appointment soon.
In September 2019, I stumbled upon a product on social media that caught my eye. I was skeptical but intrigued, especially since I’m a nurse and wanted to see the stats. While I didn’t find hard numbers, the success stories were compelling, and I felt it was worth a shot. My partner and I watched videos from the company, particularly one titled “Trying to Conceive Sucks!” that resonated deeply with us. We decided to order the kit that evening, and to our surprise, it arrived in just three days—perfectly timed for my ovulation week.
Although I thought about waiting a month to start taking vitamins and preparing, I realized we were ready to go. On October 7, 2019, I was six days late. While I had experienced late periods before, something felt different. I gathered my courage and took a pregnancy test—the one that had let me down so many times before. To my shock, there were TWO lines! I couldn’t believe it. I took another test later that day, and I was overwhelmed with joy and tears.
I know this is a lengthy story, but I can’t express how grateful we are for this blessing. Our family is overjoyed, and I appreciate the product that helped us conceive our miracle baby. After 12 years of waiting for a positive pregnancy test, we finally made it happen.
