In October 2017, we began our journey to parenthood. We were thrilled when we discovered I was pregnant in January 2018, but that joy turned to sorrow with a chemical pregnancy. Undeterred, we kept trying. In February, we got pregnant again—what an exhilarating moment! Sadly, that pregnancy also ended in a miscarriage. Determined to succeed, we purchased a home insemination kit in March. It was truly a LIFESAVER and an incredible investment!
After using the kit, my cycle came around March 26-28, and I ovulated on April 8. We inseminated three times on April 5, 6, and 8. The excitement was overwhelming when I took my first pregnancy test around April 20 and saw a positive result! I was cautious, though, and waited for my first doctor’s appointment, which confirmed I was eight weeks along.
Now, I’m still pregnant and absolutely thrilled! My doctor mentioned that I would feel more at ease after reaching 12 weeks. And guess what? I made it to that milestone! At 14 weeks, we found out the gender—it’s a boy! 💙
