Hey there! So, my partner and I have been on a wild journey to become parents for the past seven years. We tried everything—from IUI to adoption, back to IUI, then IVF, and finally, another adoption attempt. It felt like nothing worked for us, and we ended up spending over $80,000 out of pocket (not counting what our insurance covered). About a year ago, we gave home insemination a shot, but sadly, it didn’t lead to anything. After another failed adoption, we decided to give it another go. Fast forward to yesterday, and we got our first BIG FAT POSITIVE!!! I know it’s early to shout it from the rooftops, but I truly believe the hardest part is behind us—though I’m sure there are challenges ahead!
I’m beyond thrilled that I stumbled upon this method—I only wish we’d started with it instead of going through all that stress and expense! To answer a couple of questions: We tried for 7 years before turning to home insemination, and during that time, we went through Clomid, Femara, HSG, IUI, and IVF. In total, we used home insemination four times.
UPDATE
I just wanted to share how our story has unfolded. Our wonderful little boy, “J,” was born on 7/22/2020, and we can’t thank you enough for being a part of our journey! You’ve given us the missing piece to our family puzzle—he truly is our world! From the positive test to the maternity shoot and beyond, none of this would’ve happened without your help. We feel like we’re part of one big family now!
